Founding Engineer — New Venture

Remote Engineering Full-time $180k–$240k / year

We're spinning up a new Vantage company this quarter. We're looking for the first engineering hire on that team — someone who'll write the first line of production code, architect the foundation, and help shape what the product becomes.

What You'll Do

  • 01

    Be the first engineer on a new Vantage venture — build the initial product alongside the founding product lead.

  • 02

    Own the technical foundation: stack, architecture, deployment, and all the unglamorous choices that compound for years.

  • 03

    Ship the MVP. Then ship v2. Then iterate with the first real customers in the loop.

  • 04

    Help recruit the next engineers once the product finds its shape.

What We're Looking For

  • 01

    6+ years shipping production software, with at least some of that time at an early-stage startup or founding team.

  • 02

    You've taken a product from zero to launched — and you can describe every decision you'd make differently.

  • 03

    Full-stack comfort. You're happy in TypeScript/React, and equally happy setting up infrastructure.

  • 04

    High tolerance for ambiguity. The first six months won't have a roadmap; you'll help write one.

Nice to Have

  • 01

    You've founded or co-founded a company before, even an unsuccessful one.

  • 02

    Experience in the industry we're entering (we'll share under NDA during the interview).

  • 03

    Design sense strong enough to ship the first UI without a dedicated designer.
